Presentation:

Dr. McCaughan will discuss his research on the struggle for gay liberation in Mexico with special attention to the role of art in changing how homosexuality is perceived and lived in Mexico.

Presenter Bio:

Dr. Edward J. McCaughan, Professor Emeritus of Sociology at San Francisco State University, is a researcher, writer, and curator. He is the author of several books including Art and Social Movements: Cultural Politics in Mexico and Aztlan. He lives in Oaxaca with his husband, artist John Kaine.
