About the event

Burning Man, a temporary community that forms in the Nevada desert for a few weeks each summer, has become a major arts festival. As an example of this growing importance, the entire Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum displayed art from this event for eight months starting in the spring of 2018. Burning Man now attracts participants from Europe, Latin America, Africa and Asia. This presentation will focus on the amazing art presented at Burning Man in the years 2002 through 2024. This will be an updated presentation that will include many art pieces that were not included in previous OLL presentations.

Presenter: Victor Stevens has attended the annual Burning Man event every year since 2002. His involvement has included working on many art projects, serving on several volunteer committees that help to support the event, and leading the Children of Chaos theme camp.
